Get budding children with Right Brain learning!

As we all have seen there are some children who are fascinated with the idea of doing any creative activity. They are not fussy about not being able to do things like drawing or making crafts. There are some who have quirky traits of colour coding in every given thing on earth. As a parent who would not want their child to excel in all areas and be rest assured that your child is a happy and confident child. There are some who think or take life in a linear fashion and are able to process information in a more logical manner. In simpler terms, our brain is divided into two hemispheres:

The Right Brain - Works on a creative front with that stimulates the brain to process information at a much faster rate.

The Left Brain- Learning happens in a more logical manner by analysis of the subject matter and then producing a systematic output of it in the brain.

What we understand is that the right brain children are able to seize information at a much faster rate and articulate thoughts better. If the right brain is dominant the synergy between the right and left brain works at a much faster rate. You can activate the right brain with a series of right brain learning activities where your child learns by stimulating the right lobe of the brain. This kind of learning makes extremely confident kids with enhanced memory power and self esteem. On the other hand, left brain children can only excel academically due to reinforcing of learning by parents at home. In India, success is measured in terms of scores with repetitive learning skills though hard work. Teachers and parents fail to realise that a child’s competitiveness is far beyond academics. We need to make them emotionally viable citizens that are able to rekindle their genius level abilities in every sphere of life.

To understand which side of the brain is dominant in a child, we need to expose them to various right brain learning activities at a young age especially below the age of 8 years. Children are able to soak images, facts and figures at a much faster rate without analysing much and retain information. Activities like flash cards, mandala, linking memory, musical empathy and many more train the right brain. The basic advantages of right brain training are very simple to understand:

With the above facts it does not mean that we disregard the left brain abilities and only consider the advancement of the right brain. At respond right education, the emphasis is laid on right brain training so that children get more intuitive results. The theory is to create harmony between both the lobes of the brain which creates a holistic approach towards life.
