Going back to my school days, I used to find learning
difficult and would often resort to cramming of information. I cannot tell you the kind of struggle I went through especially when the content
needed to be penned down during the exam. I am trying to inculcate better learning techniques in my son that help him take a better mental picture
and recollect them. It was possible only with the help of Flash Cards that learning and memorizing becomes an enjoyable experience. There were many
companies providing flash cards however I opted to take this activity under the guidance of Respond Right Education. You can Google them anytime
and they just pop up right in front of the screen. Flash Cards are not a way of giving knowledge to children but rather training them to utilise
their right brain to its full potential. Flash card is one of the methods to stimulate the right brain capacity of children.
Early childhood is the best time to take any inputs of information and memorize them. Through flash cards many topics are introduced to them
for less than a second at a fast rate. There are more than 10-12 topics with 20 cards in each making up to 200 plus cards in a session .The topic is
mainly focussed on areas that cover everything from general knowledge to history and science. Maximum content is covered at every flashed card which
is mainly displayed once. Cards are generally flashed from back to front at the child’s eye level. Every card comes with a suitable title to it
which makes it easier to seep the image down into the brain. This is because every title is associated to the image on it. Rotating the flash
cards at high speed activates the photographic memory function of the child and activates the right brain.
One of the things that have really helped my son is that he is now well versed will volumes of concepts like colours, shapes, sizes, numbers,
comparison, time and so on. Usually there are children who learn with their left brain. However flash cards help develop a connection between the
right and left brain. This is because pictures and images are generally processed by the right brain and languages spoken while flashing the cards
are identified by the left brain. This helps in strengthening the right as well as left brain patterns in a child. My son now has his own way of
learning where he writes numbers and draws characters. I think learning is really enhanced when it is done in an artistic way. Flash cards
are one such artistic way of learning and evolving as a memorizer!
I would definitely use this class activity and want every child to get their own sense of learning and education. Right brain education a library
of fun filled activities with learning that nurtures a child to do the best with their creative abilities. It not only enhances the child but also
helps discover its genius level abilities. Do you want your child to become one?
